19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player secured his first championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a former number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
This represents his maiden title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led observers to question if his skill to play at the top level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, supported by an better serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional title, took control to create a decider.
He defended four early break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
