The star has handed over the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound award winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which works to preserve the United Kingdom's grassroots concert spaces.

The star was given the cheque on 16 October as his third album the album was declared the best record of the last 12 months.

Fender has decided to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the vital role grassroots venues played in his beginning days.

"I personally would not have achieved my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I did around the area, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," stated Sam Fender. "These locations are renowned, but they are struggling."

Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these locations have shut down – approximately 16 percent of the entire UK sector.

Recently, well-known musicians including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its initiatives to support the industry, by including a small levy to their ticket costs, which benefits independent venues.

He also participated, raising more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to help thirty-eight local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The donation assisted locations that were confronting possible closure due to difficulties stemming from floods, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and sound issues.

Some locations were granted monetary aid in upgrading facilities and technical equipment that positively impacted musicians and concertgoers.

"The concept that funds from performances in major spaces supports the local stages, where it all starts for artists like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has said.

He is among several artists to contribute his award funds to good deeds.

Back when they earned the award in the year 1996 for their release their work, lead singer the singer stated that the band would contribute their cash to the charity War Child.

In 2002, artist Ms Dynamite shared her award among several good causes, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.

"Additionally, I gave a £1,000 to my local community centre, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they required new equipment," she explained to a publication.

Previously, Ezra Collective donated their winnings to the community center that developed their group, alongside other local music groups.

And the 1994 recipients the group gave their winnings to a MS organization after a friend was found to have the condition.

"Winning was ample," said vocalist Small. "The cash was the bonus but we could do without the cherry, because we had the cake. So our victory affected another person's life."

In the past week, the trust shared it had protected several local spots in the South East, by transferring them to community ownership.

The first in that area and The Croft in the city were bought under the public acquisition initiative, which is supported by a national body and music fans who acquire "stakes" in the buildings.
