The speculation surrounding The Game Awards was significant, especially after host Geoff Keighley shared a puzzling image of a strange statue. The question has now been solved. Larian Studios is developing a fresh Divinity game.
Titled simply Divinity, the game was presented with a daring trailer packed with intense imagery, from a figure engulfed in flames to an orgy and the very unleashing of hell.
A Different Direction
Anyone expecting Divinity Original Sin 3, that is not happening. Larian warned that a direct sequel to its venerated RPGs is not on the cards right now.
Nevertheless, the developer described this new Divinity as a continuation of the core franchise. This distinction hints that the team might be designing a more action-oriented experience as opposed to another tactical title. Currently, this is speculation, as only a teaser video is available.

The Divinity series is highly rated and it's fair to claim it pioneered the contemporary revival of deep computer role-playing games. These games are known for detailed worlds, player agency, and flexible progression—elements that subsequently were perfected in games like Baldur's Gate 3.
